FAQ
Does your calcium contain any lead
The lead limit for all of our calcium products is well below federally adopted USP (United States Pharmacopeia) and California Proposition 65 regulations. The current California lead limit, effective April 1, 1999, allows for a maximum of 1.5 ppm of lead per 1,000 mg of calcium (which is even lower than federal guidelines that allow for a maximum of 3 ppm of lead calculated on calcium carbonate).
Please note, because of the chemical similarity between calcium and lead, all calcium supplements have trace amounts of lead in them. Even supplements that report non-detectable amounts may have some lead in them depending on the equipment used. Our equipment for detecting lead is very sophisticated and accurate. It is essential that our equipment be very precise since we have to be able to detect even trace amounts of lead in our products.
Why combine magnesium with calcium
Both magnesium and calcium play a role in bone health, and 60% of Americans’ diets fail to meet recommended daily magnesium intake.(1) Nature Made is committed to providing convenient supplement combinations to support your daily diet.

About Calcium

This commonly-known supplement is most often touted for its major role in maintaining strong bones. Lots of people remember their parents handing them a glass of milk with every meal as a kid, since it would help them grow big, strong, and tall. Your parents were onto something, considering that calcium is best ingested when it comes from the foods we eat. That being stated, a number of us don’t invest every waking second keeping track of our macro and micronutrients to excellence, so a calcium health supplement is an excellent means to finish a healthy diet. In addition to mineral supplements, make sure that you are getting a multitude of quality dairy like yogurt, dark leafy greens, fish where you eat the bones (like sardines and canned salmon), and calcium-fortified grains.

Benefits of Calcium:

Calcium does in reality work just as your parents told you growing up, it enhances your bones! For ladies, estrogen plays a vital role in bone health so the reduction following menopause can trigger this drop off that is best neutralized with strength training and appropriate calcium consumption.

Beyond reinforcing your bones, adequate calcium intake positively affects your nerve system, muscle tissue, and heart. This mineral helps your blood clot effectively, your muscles to work, and it also assists in managing your heart’s rhythm.

Kinds of Nature Made Calcium:

The Nature Made brand may offer several kinds of supplements. There are also numerous kinds of calcium sold in the nutritional supplement aisle, the most common being calcium carbonate and calcium citrate. Each compound includes differing amounts of the mineral calcium – calcium carbonate (40% elemental calcium) and calcium citrate (21% elemental calcium). Calcium carbonate is the most affordable and most popular form to purchase, but do note that this type needs to be taken with food. Calcium citrate does not need to be taken with food. Note that various brands will mix the calcium supplement with vitamin D, which really enhances absorption, so consider trying to find this type of combo.

Recommended Calcium Dosages

The baseline recommendation is 1,000 mg of calcium each day and for guys 71 and older and women 51 and older, the suggestion increases to 1,200 mg per day. This is not a more is better sort of supplement, so avoid taking more than 2,500 mg each day if you are under the age of 50, and no more than 2,000 mg if you are 51 and older.

When to Take Calcium

Remember this when taking the Nature Made Calcium, Magnesium & Zinc w. Vitamin D Tablets 100 Ct. Likewise consider the type of calcium you are taking, as calcium carbonate is best taken with food and calcium citrate can be taken with or without food.
